Are you on the hunt for your clean slate Sprinter Van to start your own RV conversion? Then take a look at the daily Sprinters that I’m showcasing here on the site. I’m checking sites like eBay or Craigslist for newly listed Sprinters. If I think they are reasonably priced and a good base for a Camper Van, I’ll try to list them here as soon as possible. My criteria for a good candidate to do build a Sprinter Camper are:
- no short wheel base: In my opinion the Van needs to have at least the 140 inch wheelbase to provide enough room for a bed and some living space.
- High roof: that’s a must to be able to stand upright inside the Sprinter. Just imagine camping on a rainy day and you definitely don’t want to bang your head all the time.
- Cargo or Passenger Van? My preference is a Cargo Sprinter because I rather have more privacy and I want to choose where to put a window. But if I think a Passenger Sprinter is a good deal, I’ll list it.
- Mileage: Although 300,000 miles are no problem for a Mercedes Diesel Engine I’m looking for Vans below the 200,000 miles mark with plenty of life left to travel all across the continent.
