iCarsoft MBII i980 access to Sprinter T1N electronic control modules

This is an overview of the electronic control modules the iCarsoft MBII i980 [@Amazon] code reader can access in a T1N Sprinter (tested in a 2006 Sprinter 3500).

Some of the modules are accessible via other Mercedes Van models only – this overview should help you to find them easily. For example, you can access the ABS error codes via the Vito selection or some features of the ESP system can be accessed only via the Vaneo menus.

You can also download handy PDF versions:

The iCarsoft MBII i980 can be updated via the Internet. My device came with two firmware versions installed and there are different functionalities for each version.

The first entry in for each module is either a X or a X/X. X means the scanner can access some basic module information, like the manufacturer and version. X/X means the iCarSoft can read the basic module information as well as reading and clearing error codes for this module. If the scanner can access live values for a module, they are listed out in detail.

Other features

The iCarsoft MBII i980 can reset the oil change indicator – no need to do the manual reset via Ignition/button sequence. To access this feature, go to the BENZ selection from the main menu and then Oil lamp reset > VAN > Software reset > SPRINTER II.

    1. I very seriously doubt it will. The rail pressure is going to be very high some where near 3500-5000 psi so I have been told on newer diesel engines, I am not positive but I know on older diesels that I am very familiar with the injector pop pressure will be around 2500 to 3000. That was before they added egr and all of the emission controls. So unless they have a sensor that is reading rail pressure at the pump and the injectors are not firing mechanically, you would know because of an error code I would believe. But I am just guessing here. Are the injectors mechanical or are there individual line running from the pump to each one? If they are electromagnetically fired(solenoid on top) they should have a rail pressure sensor because of lower rail pressure required in the system to atomize the fuel due to the injector doing it.
